People are starting to panic because the date predicted by by the Mayan calendar as the end of the world is fast approaching. This is not a new revelation and both individuals and governments have been preparing for years!
Back in 2008 ABC News interviewed a French scientist, Patrick Geryl, who had saved up his money, quit his job and begun preparing for the world wide apocalypse that is predicted to occur on December 21, 2012.
He (Geryl) started gathering materials necessary to survive — water purifiers, wheelbarrows (with spare tires), dust masks and vegetable seeds. His list of survival goods runs 11 pages long.
“You have to understand, there will be nothing, nothing left,” Geryl told ABC News from his home in Antwerp, Belgium. “We will have to start an entire civilization from scratch.” ABC News
